Il sogno che ho? Laurar un po' ad men, Piero. Avria propria voia d'uno spazio par mi...par andar in gir, riposarmi.

My best day?...I can’t skip it?! I Don’t even have it in my mind, so many I have had! Heheheh. The worst day too, I don’t have it too.

Even now, at 76 years of age, I remember it. Thank about that. The worst day of my life was the round-up by the Nazi-fascists in 1944. I was 10 years old and they took my father away. He wasn’t a partisan or anything. The loaded him up and they left for Rovigo. From there to Verona, from where he was supposed to be sent to a concentration camp. But thanks to the distracted guards, or maybe kind-hearted, he and some others managed to escape at night-time while they were fixing some railway sleepers.

Olidio Forti 2, 16-3-34, retired administrator of a building cooperative.

The worst day (lowers his voice) was when they replaced... and it makes me feel even stranger, saying it in front of him... a piece of the aorta to my brother. The operation lasted 8 and a half hours, and I was here in the office working between fear and the desire to cry. My dream? To make a career and get to have my own agency.

Barbara Milani,  26-4-76, insurance agent.
