Sentimental self-certification of a community and of various more or less famous guests.

Attributing value to memory, myths and legends, language and storytelling have been pillars of human survival since its origins. From nineteen hundred and ninety-one to today, in the work Paese Reale, under the portrait of the people, I have transcribed the account of their most beautiful day, the worst one and the desire they carry in their hearts. Testimonies that demonstrate that reality is nothing more than the story that everyone makes of reality, in an attempt to fix their own chaos.

The intention was to stage something universal. Because what is everyone's life, in all places and in all eras, if not a succession of desires, hopes, inauspicious times and happy times?

And the portrait of the face is a pretext to bring attention to the stories, the struggles and the pains of others, with the hope that in this way we will feel less alone, more cohesive, within an infinite collective path.
The work is not for sale and was supposed to be in the town hall in Stienta, to mix with the lives of the people who passed by, but having become one thousand hundred and eighty canvases, over one hundred and seventeen square meters of encumbrance, there was no more room and the only way I had to show it was to make very large banners or project portraits in festivals.

Now I have donated my parents' house to the municipality and there is a partial permanent exhibition there.

In order not to repeat the same drawing over and over again, from nineteen hundred and ninety-four I started series that dealt with different themes and therefore always had different forms of expression. There are drawings of hands on which to read the future, drawings of animals, of food, that is, what will become of us after we have eaten it. Everything contributes to who we are. There are tears collected on the slide and magnified three hundred thousand times. There are voices, namely: Senso by Rossi-Curreri was made to sing by 49 people and the acoustic track transformed into a graphic track. There are the dead in the memories of those who remained, there are the living survivors of Covid, there are the days spent with Massimiliano, a boy with Down syndrome, there are children and children's drawings, astrological readings and tarot readings on the work and the house that houses it, rational and irrational lovingly arm in arm, As always.
